San Francisco

We had a late start to our day. Woke up to the sounds of rain. Yay! California really needs the moisture. We finally worked up our courage and ventured forth to an amazing day of adventure!

Our motel is not in a nice end of Berkeley. Walking along University street one sees all sorts of street people. Made us feel a bit nervous so we’re checking out tomorrow and moving to a much better location. One advantage is that it’s about a 15 minute walk to the BART system in downtown Berkeley. On our way we came across the visitor center. There were two very helpful guys there and they gave us great recommendations for exploring. They even gave Yu some information about activities on campus.

After a 25 min ride “under” the Bay we got off the Powell St stop and starting walking past Union Square and stayed on Powell until we got to the edge of Chinatown.

I made it walking to the top of this friggin hill!

Lunch in Chinatown....soooo yummy 😋

....at this restaurant

I laughed so hard at this

We are walking past this camera store and the salesman stops us and offers to take a picture with my camera. He is shocked at how good my lens is on my camera. I think he was hoping to make a sale...not.

...another good store!

...sourdough...groan...

...the retired one is contemplating oh so slightly...

...Alcatraz

Hyde Street

Made it back to Berkeley and boy were we tired. Another good day.
