We have been wanting to check out the sights north of us. Apparently some of the best snorkeling is in this direction. One problem we found is the lack of signage...was it because we were so busy gawking? The scenery is spectacular and we kept saying we will stop on the way back. Being warned by others that one needs a Jeep to travel one section of road so we were prepared to turn around at some point. On the map the warning clearly states that it is a “narrow road drive at your own risk”.
Next thing we know...schite!
We stopped at one point at a shrimp stand in the middle of no where to catch our breath..we're thinking luckily we didn’t have to pass anyone!
Do we keep going or turn around? We spotted rooftops below us so the decision was to forge ahead and decide there. This little gal jumps out and flags us down...she is selling banana bread. We get talking to her and find out that we are at the halfway point of this road that we were warned about. Good thing we got a Jeep (not)! She also said the road would soon become 2 lanes...but forgot to mention that it would go back to 1...before going back to 2!
Not even close...
...but we did get some banana bread 'cause someone we know loves banana bread and she’s coming in 2 days! Woot!
It was a great adventure driving all around the North end of Maui and very happy to have survived...we took some scenic detours looking for a place to have lunch. Ended up in Lahaina and found this spot overlooking the water.
Feeding fish from the deck above us
...Forest Gump..
..punch bug!
...pineapple is larger than our tree!
After a swim in the pool we had our dinner from all the food groups.
Pineapple, crackers, wine and Poké...it was a very delicious meal...poké was ok, which is to say ‘we ate the ok poké’ (Brent made me say it) 😂😂😂
Poké was octopus and tuna 😋
