The reason for this roadtrip was a sad one. My grandson's Aunty had passed away and the service was on Saturday. She was only 24 😢
It is never an easy loss and the pain never goes away. Having lived through this myself with the loss of my son 13 years ago.
It was so wonderful to have Yuna and Ilka come along for the ride. I was appreciative of their bright spirits to boost up mine. My grandson got to hang out with us too. My daughter had come along also and while Yuna and Ilka spent 3 hours in the hotel swimming pool, the rest of us had a great visit. I got a big kick out of watching Vanessa and Dominic get into a very spirited debate. They are definitely related!
Heading home on Sunday we stopped lots so we could take some pics and picked up potatoes, onions and peppers at a fruit stand. Vanessa and I have plans of making the annual Borsch next week.
Come on Yuna...

Ilka's new friend!
First snow at the summit of one of the passes!
....and this was another day driving home on Granite Rd...oink..oink...it waddled across the road in front of us...belly scraping the pavement...now I’ve seen it all!
