3 c. Milk
6 tbsp butter
6 tbsp sugar
1 tsp salt
1 tsp sugar
1/2 c. Warm water
2 envelopes dry yeast
2 eggs
9 c. all purpose flour
Filling
1 c. butter
1 1/4 c. brown sugar
2 tbsp cinnamon
Scald milk. Stir in butter, 6 tbsp sugar & salt. Cool to lukewarm.
Dissolve 1 tsp sugar in warm water. Sprinkle yeast over water mixture.
Let stand until bubbles form aprox 10 min.
In a large mixing bowl, combine lukewarm milk mixture & eggs. Stir in dissolved yeast.
Add 4-5 c of the flour & beat well for 10 min. With a wooden spoon, gradually add enough of the remaining flour to make a soft dough. Turn out onto a lightly floured surface & knead until smooth & elastic.
This will be a soft dough. Place in a greased bowl & roll over to grease the top. Cover with a damp cloth & let rise in a warm place until doubles in size. Aprox 1 hr. (Skip this step if using fast rising yeast)
Punch down & turn out on lightly floured surface. Divide dough in half. Roll out each piece of dough to aprox 9x18 inch rectangle. Sprinkle on filling. Roll dough up like a jelly roll, starting from the long side.
Place the remaining (if any) melted butter in bottom of pan. Arrange slices in pan and cover with damp cloth. Let rise in pan until double in size aprox 45-60 min
Bake 350 degrees for 35-45 min
Yummy!
