Storm of 2015

Yesterday's storm will go down in the history books for sure. It was reported that the winds were 105 km/hr.

It was pretty scary around town. Luckily no reports of injuries, just lots and lots of damage.

These are pictures that I took from our place.

I managed to capture some lightening

Notice the very tall tree to the right?

See it leaning?

I tried to take this of the crack...

...and down it came!

...and this is the half of it...I am very grateful that this half fell the other direction! It is twice the size!

And around town...

...and Brent took these ones at LVR this morning...

  1. That's crazy... I'm glad to hear no injuries, but sorry for such huge damages.

Thank you for your response on Facebook.
The best thing was you two weren't injured in the storm. I'm relieved at that.
Apparently, it made it difficult to go camping, but you can take another opportunity. The loss of the truck would be back how it was before the storm by fixing it, or buying a new one. But life won't come back, so I'm very glad that you're alive.

    I hope I translated correctly...

  2. Your mom is right, it will be fixed and we get to stay in a beautiful hotel in Kimberley. There's a reason for everything.
When it happened the thought crossed my mind to go move the truck. I could have been inside! Yikes!
