Practice Makes Purrrfect

As the end of September draws near I look back and think where did the month go? Ilka has been here for a month already!

The month has not been kind to us and we are all suffering from our aches and pains. 🤕

Brent slipped and bruised his back coming down from Pulpit Rock...the story he tells is that Ilka pushed him...lol...so for his birthday this is what the girls made him...too funny!

Because Brent is the homestay father, the girls only know him as Brent. So when a teacher says to them go see Mr. Cross....it's "who is Mr. Cross?"

As for the girls, Ilka hurt her back with gymnastics and Yuna sprained her ankle during Volleyball.... and me...my arthritis is not my best friend right now. So between chiropractic and acupuncture and practices and school...life goes on. Never boring in our house.

Homework...

Potato leek soup...yum...

....and biscuits...I am so glad she had homework! This I can help with....Physics not so much!

Some days....are just like that....

We bought a new car this summer and love, love it. 

Yuna and I were coming home one night and this deer crossed our path...it did not survive 😢

My car is at the autobody shop getting fixed....

 

My next story involves our cat, Mitzi...

She walked out the door one morning and we didn't see her for 10 days. We started to believe that we had lost her to nature as a couple of other cats have disappeared from the neighborhood about the same time. I had posted a picture on Facebook and within 30 sec our neighbor phone and said there was a cat in her basement that she couldn't catch! We ran next door and lo and behold it was Mitzi. She bit Brent's finger she was so hungry and she hasn't stopped eating since! 

She is down to 7 lives now...

You have already been here for one week! 

The traditional airport picture...looking jet lagged and yet excited too....

We have taken it slow and easy so not to overwhelm her. 😜 She's had a tour of LVR, orientation with other International students, checked out the gymnastics club, did some shopping, went to the beach, hiked Pulpit Rock, whitewater rafting, and checked out the Kokanee spawning!

One of the many forest fires around us. This one flared up as we were swimming at the beach. Oh how we desperately need some rain ☔️ 

....and made applesauce

I also got myself a new toy that we played with....

We got the giggles on this one...applesauce muffins....squished...😂😂😂

We made Spaetzle for dinner...OMG!!

This was after Ilka's taste test 😜 that's my story and I'm sticking to it!

It's gonna be a great year!
